Accessibility
Everyone should be able to use this website and my services, whatever your eyesight, hearing, energy levels or confidence with technology.
Changing how this website looks and sounds
Press the Accessibility options button at the very top of any page. You can:
- Make the text bigger – Large or Extra large.
- Change the colours – high contrast (black on white), yellow on black, or dark mode.
- Add wider spacing between lines, words and letters, which many people find easier to read.
- Listen to the page – your device reads the page aloud.
Your choices are remembered on your device. The website also follows your device's own settings, such as increased contrast and reduced motion, and works when you zoom in up to 400%.
How this website is built
- It uses Atkinson Hyperlegible, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute so that similar letters are easy to tell apart.
- Text is large by default, and colours meet or exceed recommended contrast levels.
- Everything can be used with a keyboard alone, with a clear highlight showing where you are.
- It's built to work with screen readers and voice control, with headings, labels and image descriptions.
- Buttons and links are large, to help if you have tremors, stiffness or pain in your hands.
- There are no flashing images, autoplaying videos or sounds, and no time limits.
- The booking form is short, tells you clearly if something is missing, and never times out.
I aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
Making my services accessible
Deaf or hard of hearing
Contact me by text, email, the booking form or Relay UK (18001 07910 202256). In person I'll face you, speak clearly and write things down. Remote help can be by video with live captions or by text chat.
Sight loss
Large-print notes on request. I can set up magnifiers, bigger text, high contrast, screen readers and voice assistants on your own devices.
Fatigue, pain or limited energy
Short sessions, breaks whenever you need them, or one session split over two visits. No rushing, ever.
Memory and confidence
Step-by-step written guides for your own device, and as many repeat explanations as you need.
When you book, you can tell me anything that would help – I'll adapt the visit to suit you.
