If I can't fix it, you'll only pay for the first half hour, however long I spend trying.

I'm an IT technician living in Princes Risborough. During the week I look after computers and systems for a business; in the evenings and at weekends I help local people get the most from their technology.
I started The Chiltern Techie because I know how frustrating technology can be when nobody explains it properly. I'll never rush you, talk down to you or sell you things you don't need.
Families are welcome to book on behalf of a parent or grandparent.

Do I need to know anything about computers?
Not at all. I'll start from wherever you are and explain everything in plain English.
Can I book for my mum or dad?
Yes. Lots of families book for a parent or grandparent. You can be there for the visit, join by phone, or leave it to me — I'll let you know how it went.
What if you can't fix it?
I'll tell you honestly and explain your options. You'll only pay for the first half hour, however long I spend trying, so you're never left with a big bill for nothing.
Will you try to sell me things?
No. If you do need something new, I'll explain the options and you can buy it wherever you like.
How do I pay?
By bank transfer or cash after the visit, and I'll give you a simple receipt. Card payments are coming soon.
